Shepard Fairey Interviews Banksy

Shepard Fairey Interviews Banksy

This is an article featuring two of the most well-known graffiti artists of our time. Shepard Fairey gets up close and personal with the ever-elusive Banksy, asking educated questions about art and life. Shepard Fairey and Banksy are two of the most sought-after street artists around, and definitely two of my favorite artists.
It’s amazing that Shepard Fairey could get in contact with Banksy and provide an insider’s look into the mind of the faceless artist. It’s a very interesting article to say the least.
Go check it out on Swindle.

Today Was A Good Day

Today, Nike released a video to celebrate the release of Paul Rodriguez’s third signature sneaker. Cool video, and Rodriguez always has the dopest kicks.

Fontplore

This seems like a really cool way to explore fonts. I’ve got over 2000 families that I’ve been trying to go through and organize, kind of like spring cleaning, but I never get around to it. This would definitely make my life a lot easier, but it seems like a huge UX cop-out to need blocks that have to be dragged on its surface. The whole thing should be easy to operate with fingers and hands, that is, if the Microsoft Surface is ever mass manufactured enough to be cost effective. Doubtful.
It makes me sad to see concepts that I know I’ll never see in the real world.
Check out the website for more information.
(btw, this kind of reminds me of the video for Ayo Technology by JT)

The Fantastic Mr. Fox

The Fantastic Mr Fox

This is the brand new trailer that just came out for the new Wes Anderson film. I think it’s great, and normally I would endorse everything Wes Anderson does, but I will hold my complete endorsement until I see the film for one reason: 60% of the reason I love his films are the actors who are in them. I love all the actors he has in this film too, but it’s impossible to capture their mannerisms in stop motion animals. The team of animators are also great, but they’ll always make a different facial expression or use different body language when delivering a line than say, Angelica Huston would. That’s all I’m saying, otherwise it looks great and I’m really excited for its Thanksgiving release.
Watch the trailer!

The Cupcake Chronicle

Cupcake Chronicle

Johnny Cupcakes is putting out a brand new publication called The Cupcake Chronicle and it will contain updates, games, puzzles, recipes, trivia, product news, contests, and more. Think Highlights Magazine meets Johnny Cupcakes. It’s not available for subscription or purchase, but if you’re in any of the Johnny Cupcakes stores you can pick yourself up a copy. You will also get a free copy when you order from the online store. They’ve got a bunch of fresh baked goods this summer, and it’s all really fly.
