Popular Noise

Popular Noise

The Journal of Popular Noise is a semi-annual audio magazine that is letter-pressed, hand folded, numbered and beautifully designed. It comes on three 7″ vinyls that are cleverly folded into a single sheet of cardstock. I bought the last issue merely because of the beautiful packaging and genius fold pattern, and was pleasantly surprised that the recordings were well done and interesting as well.

There are only 300 copies made of each issue, so order fast.

nylvi store open

i wrote about nylvi a while back, but when i posted about it, it was just a blog. but now, it has turned into a full-blown vinyl buying and selling market where you can find almost any record you’re looking for.
they’ve gotten bigger and bigger, and i even saw an ad on facebook the other day, but just remember, you heard about nylvi here first, folks.

check out the store, and buy a few records. for old time’s sake.

Stefan Glerum

on the subject of vinyl rcords, i thought i’d point out this series of delightful illustrations by an illustrator named stefan glerum. there are a whole bunch of really cool drawings about the evils of vinyl record collecting, and they’ve got great style. check this guy out.

Nylvi

this will be just a quick blurb because i really need to catch up on some stuff.

anyway, nylvi is this little blog that found me on twitter, so i checked it out, and it looks good. it’s a blog all about vinyl records, and it’s well done. simple, but all the images and videos are great. it’s actually more than a blog because they’re trying to expand their site to a marketplace where people can buy and sell vinyl records.
it looks super hip, and you’ve never heard of it, so i encourage you to check it out.

i promise i’ll get back on this more this week and weekend (i hope) and bring you fresh hipness. keep checking back.

New Kidrobot Gear

there’s a brand new fall line on the kidrobot website, not to mention there’s a whole bunch of new vinyls that will be popping off a little later.
they’ve also got a few toys and a bunch of old summer product on sale. it’s going quick, so if you’re adding to your vinyl collection, or have been watching the summer line, now’s your chance because there’s free shipping on orders over $25.
