Volcano Choir

This album just came out, and I can already tell it’s going to be the sound of Autumn/Winter 2009. It’s a combination of the post-rock band Collections of Colonies of Bees and probably slightly more well known: Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. There’s definitely a major taste of Vernon’s style in the mix, but I love that this album isn’t an exact replica of For Emma… Forever Ago in the sense that it holds its own with noticeable evidence of collaboration with the fellas from Collections of Colonies of Bees.
A few of the songs have sort of a Sufjan + Bon Iver + Dirty Projectors feel to them. Here’s a couple of tracks for you to sample:

Like I said, this is going to be the album around which I base all my Autumn and Winter music this year.
The album is called Unmap, and it just came out on Tuesday.
